Hi, I’m Evrim! I am a Turkish and Belgian dual-citizen, but I was born and raised in Turkey. I moved to the Netherlands right after I turned 18 to pursue my studies in economics at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Fortunately, I am no longer an economist, perhaps only at heart.

After completing my bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business, I went on to do a master’s in Quantitative Finance. During my master’s year, I started working at CCOUNT where I started off as an intern. Completing both of these degrees in 4 years, I stayed at CCOUNT instead of going to the Big 4 (as you’re expected to when you get a master’s in finance from the UvA).

At CCOUNT, I worked with many tech startups from the Netherlands, helping them with bookkeeping, tax compliance, valuations, and more. In the meantime, the brilliant men running the company decided to fund my pursuits in software development.

In part, this was an opportunity for us at CCOUNT to see how their clients go through the entire process from founding to exit, and experiencing the struggles and joys of running a small tech startup. For me, it was a chance to put my skills to use and improve many of the processes that a bookkeeping and tax advise firm executes on a daily basis.

I was also the editor-in-chief of the student magazine of the Faculty of Economics and Business of the UvA, Rostra Economica. It’s been student-ran for more than 65 years, and it ain’t stopping anytime soon.
